Sean Orr is the owner and operator of Washington West Fishing Adventuress. He has owned and operated a state licensed fishing guide and charter service since 1990. Born and raised on the southern Olympic Peninsula, he has been fishing Washington’s most scenic waters for over 30 years. Orr graduated from Grays Harbor College with an AA degree in fisheries and from Central Washington University with a bachelors degree in Natural Resources Management and Environmental Studies. He also works for the State of Washington as a Marine Transportation Safety Specialist helping the maritime protect Washington’s majestic waters from oil spills.
Orr is one of the few fully licensed inland fishing guides and coastal charter operators in Washington State. He holds Washington State Guide Licenses, a Washington Charter License and a Master 100 Gross Ton United States Coast Guard License for offshore and inland waters to ensure your safety.
Orr also works hard on policy issues related to sport fishing. His accomplishments include:
·Helping to restore Cowlitz River Hatchery Fall Chinook production.
·Helping shape new fishing guide requirements passed by the Washington State legislature in 2013.
·Co-founding the Northwest Olympic Peninsula Sport Fishing Coalition in 2014.
Throughout the year, Orr follows the fish focusing on ocean halibut, salmon and tuna out of Westport and La Push from May-September. Gray’s Harbor and the Satsop and Chehalis Rivers account for his fall as he targets Chinook and coho. The Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Hoh and Clearwater is where his winters and early spring is spent targeting steelhead. He also fishes for Chinoook on the Columbia River near the Astoria Bridge in August before moving to the
Cowlitz River to focus on fall Chinook and coho in September, winter steelhead in March and April and summer steelhead in July and August.
